Poached Pears

Here is a very simple recipe for one of the yummiest desserts I have ever had. It uses fresh Bosc (brown skin) Pears and you will love it too.

Preheat your oven to 180.

Peel 4 – 6 Bosc and roll them in brown sugar to coat.

Stand the pears in a baking dish and slowly pour cream over the pears to form a bath in the bottom of the dish. You will probably need the best part of 300ml of cream. Now sprinkle some more brown sugar on each of the pears.

Place in the oven and cook for about 1 hour or until the pears are tender.

The sugar and the cream will form a caramel sauce which can be drizzled over the pears when serving. You may need to add a little more cream. Serve with whipped cream and ice cream.

Wow the family or guests at your next dinner party with this beautiful yet simple recipe.
